You may need administrator rights to complete the following install for a PC running a Windows operating system with Internet Explorer browser (not Edge):
If the IE browser window shows a boxed section with a small 'X' icon in the upper left corner, this means the simulation can not load due to the missing Java Runtime Environment for IE or possible a security issue that your version of Java has detected. If there is any problem with the simulation window, you will need the more current version of the Java Runtime Environment for Windows. To get the latest version for your hardware, go to http://java.sun.com/downloads. In the right window select the current version of the JDK. When the page is open, select Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (the current version as of this printing) for download. On the next page loaded, you will have to accept the licensing agreement before you can begin the download.
If you have a current version of Java installed and you are still having difficulties it is a security issue. To solve the issue see below for PC or Mac. I promise you can TRUST this site. I hope to have a Certificate that will mean the site is TRUSTED.
On a PC:
NOTE: Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers will not run Java applets. Please use Microsoft Explorer when following the instructions in this section. Assuming you have Java installed, on your computer search for Java Control Panel or Java Console. Open the Control Panel. Go to the Security tab. In the Exceptions Site List select the Edit Site list button. Click on the Add button and enter ‘http://introchem.chem.okstate.edu’, then click the OK button. As of January 26, 2019 you will need to add a second exceptions to the list: http://canyon.okstate.edu. Click OK to exit the Control Panel. You should be able to access the simulation after following these instructions. It is possible you may have to quit your browser and re-open the web site.
If you encounter any problems with the above instructions do not hesitate to contact John Gelder (john.gelder@okstate.edu).
