Greetings,
Do you wonder – what do scientists really do?
This is an invitation to two events this Friday (Sept. 5) where you can find out what one of our invited speakers, Dr. Puni Jeyasingh, really does.
· At 10:30-11:20 in LSW 102 come meet and enjoy a snack in a casual setting just for freshman.
· At 3:30-4:30 in LSW 103, join other scientists, undergraduates and graduates to listen to a formal presentation “Toward a synthesis of ecology and evolution using elements.”
The speaker, Dr. Puni Jeyasingh, has agreed to answer questions from life-science majors, such as you, in an informal setting. You don’t have to know anything about the subject or his research beforehand.
The time with freshman is to answer your questions about learning to be a scientist, becoming a scientist, getting a job as a scientist, being a scientist, selecting a mentor, getting involved with research, why do the kind of research he does, …. whatever professional questions you might have.
So please, come join us to learn more about the life sciences of which you are becoming a member.
If you would like, you can reply with a question which we will pass along to Dr. Jeyasingh.
Sincerely,
Dr. Donald P. French, Zoology
Dr. Wouter Hoff,

Dr. John Gelder, Chemistry
Dr. Gilbert John,

Dr. John Gustafson, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
Dr. Janette Steets
