  • I have Monday and Wednesday's lecture posted at the QuickTime Video/Lectures link (see the left-hand frame on this page)
  • The PLE for Friday's class is ready.
  • I have the HELP feature working for problem 3 on the RPS. Check it out. One caveat...I'm only comparing answers within a 4% error. It is possible to have an answer that is close to the correct answer, but have worked the problem incorrectly. This is not likely, but it can happen in some kinds of problems. Use this HELP feature carefully.
  • HELP Session. Thursday evening (1/16/03)...7:00 pm in PS141.
  • In our staff meeting today Lisa mentioned that she could not find the Hf for HCN(aq) or for CN-(aq). I've looked those values up and they are 105 kJ mol-1 and 151 kJ mol-1 respectively.
  • Also in staff meeting it was mentioned that some students did not have an element in RPS8e on the Review Problem Set. If that is the case go to your Personal Web page. You can get the missing element there. Copy it on to your Review Problem Set or print a new copy.
  • How about those Cowboys! I will be in Norman on Tuesday working with Dr. Abraham. I will let everyone down there know how happy OSU is about this game!...let's see when was the last time OU beat us in ...anything!
  • There have been several changes in TA assignments for labs. Check your Personal Web page if you are in sections 4, 6, 8 or 9.
  • This semester I want to try using personal web pages. To take advantage of this new feature you will have to give me a Secret Identification number or name. Go to the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the information requested. After you have given me your SID information you will be able to access your own personal CHEM 1515 Web page through the Personal Page. The personal page will have information specifically associated with you: grades, PLE's, homework, exams, plus other way cool stuff. So get your SID set up now!
      • Since this is the FIRST time I have tried to use the Personal Web Page concept there are going to be problems. You must e-mail me, or contact me when you have problems so I can solve them quickly. Hang in there, it is going to be FUN! this semester.
  • You will need your individualize copy of the Review Problem Set before you go to Laboratory this week. After submitting your SID information go to your Personal Page and click on the Problem Set link. There you will be able to obtain your own Review Problem Set. If you have any questions contact Dr. G.
  • Here are this semester's laboratory sections. Be sure to bring your textbook and a calculator to laboratory this week! Yes! Labs are meeting this week (1/13/02 - 1/17/03).

  • Check out the link to the web site for our textbook (BLB). The link is near the top of the left frame on our web site. Clicking on the link will take you to a page with an image of our textbook. Near the top of the page is a dropdown menu listing the Chapters in the text. Select a chapter and a page will be loaded for that chapter that contains links to resources. If you would like some practice problems try the Problem Soving Center. When the Problem Center page is load scroll down to the red button under flexible questions. Select the Homework link. This will generate a set of questions from the chapter. You will need a calculator.

  • Here is a very nice Periodic Table that contains lots of physical properties and chemical properties for the elements.
  • Our TAs for this semester (as of Monday, August 19, 2002) are;
