Intermolecular Attractive Forces - Dipole-Dipole Forces

Polar compounds exhibit dipole-dipole forces besides London Dispersion forces. Polar compounds have permanent dipoles as a result of partial charges on different parts of the molecule. The permanent dipole arise from polar bonds and a molecular geometry that does not allow the polar bonds to completely cancel.
