What must happen for the reaction between BG and R to occur?

The movie depicts the reaction between BG and R to form RG and B (BG + R --> RG + B). All of the reactants and products are in the gas phase. These particles are moving in straight-line motion until a collision occurs between two particles. Inorder for a reaction to occur the reactants, BG and R must collide.
