All your grades are now posted on your Personal Grades page. PLease check to be sure there are no errors in your grades. If there are you will need to provide evidence to support your claim (lab reports). I can handle PS, Clicker attendance, BCE/ACAs, exam scores. I have not dropped any grades on your Grades Page. You can calculate your final percentage in the following way:

(sum top 16 PS scores)* (200/192) + (sum of top 10 labs) + (Ex1 + Ex2 + Ex3 + Ex4 + Ex5)=Crs points

(Crs pts/850)*100 = Crs %

Remember 85% A: 75% B: 55% C: 40% D

I am around so send an e-mail if you have questions.

The CHEM 1515 Survey is available on your Personal BCE Page. Please complete it ASAP.

ACA#29 is now available on your Personal Page. Please complete it by 11:59 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014. (NOTE: It may be helpful for some of the problems on PS13.)

HELP! Session Friday, May 2, 2014 in PS141 beginning at 5 pm.

Answers to Exam II and Exam III are now available on your Personal Grades page. Look at the column heading for your exam scores for the link to the answers.

ACA#28 and BCE#29 are available on your Personal Page.

PS#13 is now available on your Personal Page.
Some of the problems are due Wednesday and the remaining are due on Thursday of this week.

Grades are now posted, along with Grade Predictions. To see your current percentage in the course click on the MyCourse Grades link. To see what you need to score on Exam IV and Exam V to earn a particular grade click on the Prediction link. Read the Prediction page carefully. If you have questions send an e-mail, drop by during office hours, or ask in class.

This week in laboratory we are doing Voltaic Cells, an activity in your DCI workbook that begins on Page 297. Check Week #15 on your Personal Assignment Page.

PS#12 is now available on your Personal Problem Set page. We will begin discussion on Chapter 21 on Tuesday. Be sure to complete the BCE, it is a review on several ideas important to what we will discuss. Checkout Chapter 4 in your Textbook for this review.

I have added all of your responses on PS10 to the Feedback on Your Responses link on your Personal PS Page. Also the PS Answers are update to include PS10.1 - PS10.9. Up-to-date grades are now posted (does not have PS10 yet), so check on any scores I told you I'd corrected. PS19 is the first DCI for clicker questions. I randomly selected 1/28/2014, 2/25/2014, 3/6/2014 and 3/11/2014. If there are any issues with labs, talk to your TA.

New grades, including your Exam II score are now posted. Class average is 51. Lower than Exam I. Be sure check out your Personal Page. There is an option to earn a few additional points on Exam II. Currently the class average is 62.7% which is great.

Has anyone ever used Remind101? Would a well placed reminder HELP! you? It has been recommended to me, so I thought I might give it a try. I can send reminders as texts to your phone, without having to know your phone number (who would want to give their phone number to their chemistry teacher!?) We will evaluate this software at the end of the semester. The first reminder will be our Exam II on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Go to this page to sign up: https://www.remind101.com/join/chem1515

Here are the DCI pages that we have been using for Chapter 13 Material. Answers to the questions can be found on the Assignment Page.

This week's laboratory experiment is in your CHEM 1515 Laboratory Manual, so there is a pre-lab that must be completed before you arrive to discussion.

Grades are now available on your Personal Grades Page. The Exam average was 61 (YEA!). Exams will be returned beginning on Friday during laboratory. When you receive your exam look it over, if you have any questions that you want re-graded you MUST RETURN your exam to your TA BEFORE you leave laboratory. Otherwise I will not make changes to your exam(s) score.

The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set. If you want to see a video covering the CHEM 1515 Web site than checkout the video podcast.

Be sure to bring your copy of the During Class Inventions and Computer Lab Activities Workbook to lecture and laboratory class.
