  • Here are some quick responses to the last question on ACA#4 (If you could ask one question...).
  • Help Session tonight, Tuesday, September 6th beginning at 8:30 pm in PS141. Help on PS2 questions. We'll have another help session on Monday, September 12th in preparation for our first exam. My preference is after my bike ride, but if 7:30 pm causes any significant hardship I'll schedule the help session earlier. Let me know...send an e-mail.
  • PLE#3 and ACA#3 are now available on your Personal Page.
  • Here are some quick responses to the last question on ACA#2 (If you could ask one question...).
  • The video for both class meetings are posted on the Assignment Page. Just click on the class date on the Week 1 Page. They are QuickTime format. If you have any problems viewing the video try using the Mac's in PS102. Remember you will need you Student ID to swipe to gain access to the room, and you must know your PRISM password.

  • Laboratory will meet the second week of classes. Be sure to bring your textbook, calculator and paper.
  • The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. G. indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page, and get your personal Problem Set #1. Do not worry about the PLE or ACA, I'll discuss those in class on Tuesday.
  • ATTENTION FRESHMAN!!! CEAT FRESHMAN COUNCIL applications are due September 6, 2005 at 5:00 pm in EN 101. Applications can be found in EN101 or online at http://www.ceatstuco.com. APPLY NOW!
  • If you have not yet purchased your textbook (and even if you have) you might consider whether you would prefer an electronic version of the textbook rather than a hard copy version. This option may work for some of you. The catch? It is priced approximately half of the cost of the hard copy version of the textbook. The electronic version of Brown, LeMay and Bursten is now available. You can also check the OSU Bookstore web site for details.

Check out the link to the web site for our textbook (BLB). The link is near the top of the left frame on our web site. Clicking on the link will take you to a page with an image of our textbook. Near the top of the page is a dropdown menu listing the Chapters in the text. Select a chapter and a page will be loaded for that chapter that contains links to resources. If you would like some practice problems try the Problem Solving Center. When the Problem Center page is loaded scroll down to the red button under flexible questions. Select the Homework link. This will generate a set of questions from the chapter. You will need a calculator.

Here is a very nice Periodic Table that contains lots of physical properties and chemical properties for the elements.
