• This week's lab is listed on the course Syllabus and the class Assignment Page on your Personal Page. There is an Activity that I would like you to do BEFORE you arrive in laboratory this week. The Activity is titled Acids and Bases Classification and Identification Activity. It consists of observing short videos showing the behavior of seven solutions when three different indicators, and three different substances are combined. After watching each video you are to write a brief description of what you observed (like...Addition of the phenolphthalein indicator produced a pink color in Solution A.) There are six different sets of tests performed on each of the seven solutions. On the activity page you will click on a link to each test page. On each page YOU MUST enter your name and lab section number, otherwise the experimental data will not be associated with your name and you will lose some partial credit. Print out the Response Page following each set of experiments and bring the pages with you to laboratory.

• Answers to PS#7 are now available. Also I have linked the HELP feature for PS#8. Help is available for PS8.1 and PS8.2. Additional problems (PS8.4, PS8.7 and PS8.8) will be posted soon.
  
  
  
  
• HELP Session, Monday, March 10, 2008 at 4:30 pm in PS141 to answer questions on PS8. Remember PS8 is due Tuesday at the beginning of class.
  
  
  
  
  
• The average on Exam II is a 58.3. The high was a 94. Swag at the beginning of class on Thursday. The class average is a 69, which is outstanding!!
  
  
  
  

For those students who still have their original cards from the Honors Thesis survey, there will be a second opportunity to participate in the 10-minute survey and win a gift card to Eskimo Joes. As a reminder, the survey is entitled "Learning style trends of undergraduate pre-health students," and the investigator is James Harlan (james.harlan@okstate.edu). Each card should have a 4-digit number which will be used to take the survey. For every 30 students who participate, one $20 gift card will be offered. Winning numbers will be posted on the survey website on February 9th.

Grades are posted. The class average is 66. Two students received a score of 97. These two students will receive some swag in class on Thursday, and get to be taped to share with their family...cool. Awesome performance on our first CHEM 1515 exam. Here is the class distribution.

The During Class Invention and Computer Lab Activities Workbook is now available in the Student Union Bookstore. Looks like it is time to pickup a DCI in class.!
