• I've created a FaceBook Fan Page titled CHEM 1515 SP2010. If you facebook check it out. I am interested in exploring how a FaceBook Fan Page might be used to study chemistry this semester.

• The weather has been a little strange in Stillwater (although it is lovely in San Francisco!) You are expected to enter your answers on the HELP page for PS#9 questions 9.2, 9.3 and 9.8 by Monday, March 22, 2010 at midnight. Remember the podcast for lecture on Thursday, March 11, 2010 is available through iTunes. PS9.1 - PS9.8 are due at the beginning of class on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
  
  
  
  
  
• For Laboratory during the week of March 22, 2010 be sure to look at the Assignment Page, or the Syllabus. The Experiment is Acid/Base pH on page 257 from the During Class Inventions and Computer Laboratory Activity Workbook. The Pre-lab for this experiment is PLE#16. So you must complete PLE#16 BEFORE coming to laboratory/discussion.
  
  
  
  
• THE STOREROOM WILL NO LONGER LEND SURGICAL PANS TO STUDENTS WHO COME TO LAB IN SHORTS! BE AWARE.
  
  
  
  
  
• ACA#16 and PLE#16 are now available on your Personal Page. You will need a calculator for the ACA and both.
  
  
  
  
  
• The average on Exam I is 55!! The high score earned 93 points, will be recognized at the beginning of class with some very cool SWAG. If you are concerned about your exam score you are welcome to drop by and talk. I can provide some information about how this grade might influence your overall course grade. No PS#2 scores have been posted yet, and there was an issue with PS#3 which we are still correcting. Exams will be returned during your next laboratory meeting, beginning Thursday morning. You have the laboratory period that you receive your exam to review it for any errors/concerns/questions that you may have. If you would like any questions reviewed to be sure you have received the correct numebr of points, indicate which question(s) you wanted re-checked and return the exam to your TA. • There have been a few students visiting me with regards to graphing calculators on the exam tomorrow, and the possiblity of the department supplying the single/double line calculator. The department does not provide calculators, however there will be a limited number of backup calculators available for use. Depending on the number of students needing to use a calculator, and the number available, you may be able to use a calculator for the full time (students needing calculators(SNC)<available backup calculators (ABC)), 25 minutes per student if SNC/2<ABC<SNC, 17 minutes per student if SNC/3<ABC<SNC/2, etc. Single line calculators are ~$10 at the Bookstore, or borrow one from a friend.
  
  
  
  
  
• The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. G. indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set.
