Be sure to pickup PS#8 on your Personal PS page.

ACA#13 and BCE#12 are now available on your Personal Page.

I've modified the problems that are due tonight to Q1, Q2 and Q4. Q3 was added to the Tuesday, February 23, 2016 due date.

HHMI has e-mailed you requesting input on a survey. Your input is appreciated.

This week's experiment is Introduction to Spectroscopy. This experiment is in your CHEM 1515 laboratory manual. Be sure to complete the pre-laboratory questions.

Checkout the ACS Student Organization flyer.

Exam I results are just in...the average on the exam was 57, which is not bad. The overall class average is between 61% and 64% depending on how you play with the numbers. Exams are returned during lab. If you want any question(s) regraded, return your exam to your TA BEFORE leaving laboratory and we will review the lab at our next Staff meeting.

PS#5 is now available on your Personal Problem Set page. No PS#4 this semester.

Be sure to check your Personal Page in the left frame for the time and room for Exam I. Also check the General Information link regard the exam policy for this semester.

Your answers to Review Problem Set to PS3 are now available on your Personal Problem Set Page. Some answers to the Review PS are now posted. Click on the PS Feedback link on your Personal Problem Set page.

For Exam I you will be responsible for structural isomers and nomenclature for alkanes only from Survival Organic Chemistry.

Some College students spend up to one fifth of class time on digital devices.

Checkout upcoming presentations at the Science Cafe organized by the Sigma Xi and the OSU Library. The next is February 16, 2016.

The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set and Problem Set #1.

Be sure to bring your copy of the During Class Inventions and Computer Lab Activities Workbook to lecture and laboratory class.

For this course you need a textbook (can be Tro; A Molecular Approach; 3rd Edition; Pearson Publishing), the CHEM 1515 Student Laboratory Manual and During Class Inventions and Computer Laboratory Activities Volume II, 3rd Edition, Abraham, Gelder and Greenbowe. Also you will need a TurningPoint clicker for class at 3:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.

Be sure to checkout the PS0Comments if you are having questions on some of the Review Problem Set Problems.
