PS11 is now available on your Personal Problem Set Page.
Office hours for Thursday are 9:30 am to 11:30 am (ish). I will be attending another publisher presentation.
ACA19 and BCE19 are now available on your Personal Page. You will need a calculator for both the ACA and BCE.
PS10 is now available on your Personal Page. Be sure to bring it to class today. If you submitted responses to the HELP! Page for any PS10 problems before 2:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 I'll give you feedback on your Personal Problem Set Page.
Answers to PS9 are now posted on your Personal Problem Set page along with feedback for your problems on PS9. PS9, PS10 and PS11 are closely tied together. Success on each one depends on the previous problem set(s). The appropriate DCIs will be very important in helping you on these problem sets.
New grades are posted. Some clicker data has not been uploaded. Overall Course Percentage is 63.2%
Exam II average is currently 50.8. That is a drop from our first exam. The overall class average dropped from 64.7% to 62.2%. I'm confident that the average will start climbing shortly. Remember if you wish to discuss your individual position in the class let's try to setup a time.
I've updated grades. The overall course % will be the percent I will be using for 6-weeks grades which are due by March 1. I will not be able to have Exam 1 grades completed before the 6-weeks grades are due
Laboratory for the Week of February 28th is Introduction to Spectroscopy in the CHEM 1515 lab manual. There are pre-lab questions for this experiment.
Exam 1 average is 58.6. Awesome!!!
A review of the last three class (1/31, 2/2 and 2/7) attendence data based on clicker questions and homework percentage (based on five problem sets), yielded this information.

I have posted the Spring 2017 Tutoring Schedule for PS453 on your Personal Page in the left frame near the top.
You might want to checkout this article on test anxiety.
The
first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete
the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left
frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating
your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional
form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class),
and get your personal Review Problem Set and Problem Set #1.
Be
sure to bring your copy of the During Class Inventions and Computer Lab Activities
Workbook to lecture and laboratory class.
For this course you need a textbook (can be Tro; A Molecular Approach; 3rd Edition; Pearson Publishing), the CHEM 1515 Student Laboratory Manual and During Class Inventions and Computer Laboratory Activities
Volume II, 3rd Edition, Abraham, Gelder and Greenbowe. Also you will need a TurningPoint clicker for class at 3:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.
Be sure to checkout the PS0Comments if you are having questions on some of the Review Problem Set Problems.
