I'm working on a new link to Lecture resources for class. You are welcome to make suggestions of what else I can place here. For now there is a link to an activity we will do in class on Friday to introduce intermolecular attractive forces (IMAF). Get it and bring to class.

We will be starting with Chapter 12 in class on Friday. I have posted PS2 along with the PS2 HELP! page. The first questions that are due by Sunday have been covered on the Review Problem Set.

In class today when I was discussing BCE3 I talked about types of question where reasoning would be used to support claims. I indicated that from a balanced chemical equation for a reaction I would expect you to include your reasoning for a claim as shown in 6c or 6d in BCE3. But if I asked for a particulate level explanation for something like a phase change I wanted more details as in BCE3 question 5a and 5b. There was a problem with the BCE3 that I was using on the ipad which I have fixed related to the explanations in Q5 and Q6. I have corrected those explanations. You can go to the Review my ACAs link on your Personal page and click on the BCE3 link to see the corrected explanations. NOTE!! DO NOT redo BCE3. If you do that all your previous responses will be written over and the submission date will be changed.

BCE4 is now available on your Personal Page. BCE4 is due by 9:30 am on Friday, January 29, 2021.

ACA4 is now available on your Personal Page. ACA4 is due by 11:59 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021. NOTE: ACA4 will help you on PS1.

Tuesday, January 26, 2021! Grand Opening Special. Enter ANY response to PS1 questions using the PS1 HELP! link on the Problem Set page and I will provide Feedback. This Special runs from now (11:00 am) to 11:59 pm today, Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set and Problem Set #1 from the Problem Set link.

Copies of the During Class Invention activities are located in the During Class Inventions and Computer Lab Activities Workbook .
