  • We are working on the Exams right now. I will post here when we have an exam graded.

  • THANK YOU! for all your hard work this semester, I hope it pays off. Good luck on the remainder of your finals. You will be able to come by in the Fall and pick up your Exam IV and your Final. Be sure check here for updated information. I will be posting grade updates (announced here) as I have them available.

  • Average on Exam III is a 60!! Way to go!! There was a tie for the high score....Jennifer Royall and Dusty Leck each earned 95's! Swag on Friday. Scores are posted. Remember you will receive your exams next Monday and Tuesday in laboratory. If anyone needs to make an important decision, and would like to talk to me please send a message so we can set up a time to meet. Thursday is bad, Friday is much better.

  • I have changed your Grades page to provide additional information about the course. Besides all of your homework, lab and exam grades I have also included the class average for each assignment, and a class distribution for each assignment. This way you can see how your score compares to the class average for that assignment and you will be able to see where your score is in the class distribution.

  • Grades for Exam II are posted. Average on our second exam was 57.6. High was a 94 by Wesly Geier... CONGRATULATIONS...Cool swag on Friday. Exams will be returned next week in lab. I will do a podcast of Exam II on Thursday, March 8, 2007...the studio is booked until then.

  • If you are interested in using the new Homework system under development for Brown, LeMay and Bursten please send me an e-mail message (john.gelder@okstate.edu) with your name and lab section number. I'll keep you posted. Use Mastering Chemistry as your subject.

  • Grades for Exam I (only) are posted. Average on our first exam was 55.5. I will have PS and lab scores in the next day or so. High was a 95 by Jennifer Royall... CONGRATULATIONS...Cool swag on Friday. Exams will be returned next week in lab. I will do a podcast of Exam I on Friday.

  • The room assignment for all three hour exams has been determined. We will take the first three hour exams in ES317. That is the same room as our lecture. Please bring your ID to each exam. If your TA or I do not recognize you and you do not have your ID, you will not be able to take the exam.

  • I've added some links covering Organic Chemistry to the Assignment Page for this week. Scroll to the After Laboratory section of you assignment page. For exam I you will need to be able name and draw complete Lewis structures for alkanes. You will also be expected to name and draw complete Lewis structures for structural isomers for any alkane of haloalkane (an alkane with a halogen...like fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine).

  • The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. G. indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set. If you want to see a video covering the CHEM 1515 Web site than checkout the video podcast. Click on the Podcast link in the left frame to learn how to subscribe to the CHEM 1515 podcasts for this semester.

  • Remember laboratory does meet this week. Students who have laboratory on Monday (sections 1 and 2) will also check in their locker equipment besides viewing the Safety video and taking the Safety Quiz. Students who have Tuesday lab will NOT checkin, but will view the Safety Video and take the Safety Quiz.

  • Be sure to bring your copy of the During Class Inventions and Computer Lab Activities Workbook to class.
