    • The Activity that I mentioned at the end of Class on Thursday is now available on your Personal Page. It is called the Reduction-Oxidation Concept Inventory. If you complete it I will give you 12 points for a Problem Set Grade. I am not grading it, so provide your best answers as well as you understand the question(s). The Inventory should be completed before class on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

ACA#24 is now available on your Personal Page. You will need a calculator for the ACA.

Be sure to checkout the DCIs on Thursday of Week 12 on your Personal Assignment Page. They should be helpful. We covered that in class today. The material we are covering now requires lots and lots of PRACTICE! Do not think that "Oh, I'll never understand this". You will but you must persevere, and practice lots of problems.

I have posted new grades. This new post includes your score for PS19 (BCE/ACA for Ex3). I've also posted your Grade Prediction. It is a different link on your Personal Page but right below your Grades link. Please read the information on the Prediction page carefully, that may save you some questions.

Average on the third exam was a 62!!! Way to go. Swag in class. Grades posted in 20 minutes or so. The Exam3 answers are posted on your Personal Grades Page.

For equilibrium stuff coming up we will want to use the Titanium calculator. Checkout page 49 (Solving Equations) on how to enter and solve polynomials. Practice that and you will be empowered!

Exam II scores are now posted. Thank you for your patience. Exam II average is 51.7. Grades will be posted later this evening. The class average at this point is 63.7% so that is great.

Exam I is graded. The average was 57.6. Swag on Thursday. Exams will be returned in laboratory beginning on Friday. If you want any of the questions on the Exam regraded. YOU MUST return your exam to your TA before you leave laboratory the day you receive your exam. Note on the front of the exam the question(s) you want regraded and we will look at them again to be sure we were consistent. If you have any specific concerns you are welcome to talk to me. Be sure to bring your exam with you so I can review it.

To avoid the expense of a physical clicker you may also you an iPhone (iOS) or an android smartphone. Download the application from Turning Technologies (called ResponseWare for iOS). Using the app register by creating a logon. When you create your logon you will receive a DeviceID. You need to give me that DeviceID (see the link on your Personal Page). To use your phone in class you will start up the app, logon with your created userid and then enter the 6-digit code that I write on the board at the beginning of class. That does it.....well maybe. You may need to go to www.rwpoll.com to create an account and obtain a DeviceID.

    • Checkout the link to the digital video of our class lectures on your Personal Page.

    • The first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID, fill out the additional form for some extra credit, and then you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class), and get your personal Review Problem Set. If you want to see a video covering the CHEM 1515 Web site than checkout the video podcast. Click on the Podcast link in the left frame to learn how to subscribe to the CHEM 1515 podcasts for this semester.

Here are corrections to the Student version of the CHEM 1515 Laboratory Manual for Spring 2013.
