PS14 is now available on your Personal Problem Set page. A subset of problems will be due on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 by 11:59 pm.
I have received official notification that we can have PS101 for Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4pm to 5:50 pm for the CHEM 1515 Final Exam.
BCE32 is now available on your Personal ACA Page. BCE32 is due before class on Monday, April 26, 2021. You will need a calculator for this BCE.
No ACA for Friday's lecture.
I have updated the Course Grades and Grade Prediction pages on your Personal Page. I've also uploaded Feedback on PS12. Check that out and if you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me.
Your Exam III scores are now available on your Personal Page Course Grades link. I've updated some lab scores also. Just below the My Course Grades link is the Prediction link. While I will discuss this in class on Friday this page predicts what you must earn out of 200 pt (Exam IV and V) to earn a particular grade in CHEM 1515. I will be happy to discuss this page with you via Zoom. Just send an e-mail with possible times in the next few days and I will setup a personal Zoom meeting. I can also answer questions via e-mail.

Group B(OL): (F2F) Experiment 11: Oxidation - Reduction and Laboratory Checkout. (Remember lab begins with a discussion period at 12:30 pm. Bring your questions over Problem Sets, BCEs, DCIs, ACAs to the discussion. Group C(OL): Exp 7: Kinetics of the Decolorization of Crystal Violet. Watch the lab video and complete the Quiz on Canvas. NOTE: We have not covered Kinetics yet. I recommend waiting until we have discussed this material.
Average on EXAM III is 61. Awesome! I did end up changing a few exam scores. I have not updated the My Course Grades or the Grade Prediction pages yet.
Exam II average was 52. I have updated your Personal Grades page with more PS and Lab scores. If you have any questions or concerns I am happy to talk with you.
Exam I average was 57. This compares to Exam I averages of 63 (SP18), 58.6 (SP17) and 57 (SP16), so the average this semester is pretty consistent with past semesters. I will have more data after I get some lab scores from your TA. Once I have those I will be able to post scores on the My Course Grades link on your Personal Page. I will try to get that additional data ASAP. Still working on the BCE and ACA. Those should be posted soon.
I'm working on a new link to Lecture resources for class. You are welcome to make suggestions of what else I can place here. For now there is a link to an activity we will do in class on Friday to introduce intermolecular attractive forces (IMAF). Get it and bring to class.
The
first thing you need to do to access materials for this class is to complete
the Secret Identification (SID) form. Click on the SID#/Name link in the left
frame and complete the form. You will receive an e-mail from Dr. Gelder indicating
your SID has been accepted. Once you have entered an SID you can go to your Personal page. On your Personal Page check out the Assignment Page (what is happening in class),
and get your personal Review Problem Set and Problem Set #1 from the Problem Set link.
