  • I've now posted the number of PLEs I have for you at your Course Grades link on your Personal Webpage. Please note that there were 34 PLEs this semester. PLE2 was screwed up so I am dropping that PLE from the total. I will also drop one more PLE from the total, to make 32 PLEs. If you have done 23 or more PLEs (72%) I will adjust your two lowest (not 0's) PS to the maximum possible...12. If you have completed 15 or more PLEs (47%) I will adjust 1 PS to the maximum possible. Please note that your total from your personal page may not exactly agree with the total I have assigned. I have reviewed your PLEs and I did not count PLEs that appeared more than one, blank PLEs or PLEs that were all CNA and were done in less than a minute.

  • All grades are now posted. Please note that there were 12 students who completed the survey but the survey's I received did not contain a name.

  • You guys totally rocked!! The class average was 70%!!! So I did not deviate at all from the indicated percentages for A (85%), B (75%), C(55%) and D (40%). The grades are now posted. If you find any errors in the posted scores (see your personal web page) please contact me. At this point minor changes may not have an effect, but maybe they will. My schedule now officially gets busy. Best means of contact is e-mail. Have a great summer. If you would like your Exam IV and V see me in the Fall. And thank you one more time for all your hard work this semester.

  • Grades for Exam IV are now posted on your personal web page. Grades that are outstanding...for Sec 2 and 7 PS#14 and Lab #12 are not ready yet. For everyone Lab6 is not yet posted. These will be up in the next day or so. I've not dropped any labs or PS so the Course % is slightly lower than what it will turn out to be after I drop two labs and three PS. If you currently are just over the % break for a particular grade, you've earned that grade. If your % is slightly below the grade break whether you receive the higher grade will depend on the dropped scores. More info as I have it.
  • The survey is ready. Please answer all of the questions as completely as you can. You have until Sunday, May 11, 2003 at 5:00 pm to complete the Survey. For completed surveys I will enter a score of 12 for PS15. You can access your survey through your personal web page.

  • Grades for Exam V are now up on your personal web page. Check the My Course Grades links. The average for Exam V is 58, and the high was a 99!!! Way to go Kaori!! You get another bumper sticker and a new periodic table! Drop by my office. Exam IV grades will probably be available on Wednesday.
  • Here is the link to the Extra Credit Assignment. It is due by Sunday, May 11th at 5:00 pm. You can e-mail me the report, or drop it by my office. If you mail (snail) the report I have to receive it by Monday's mail to be counted. If you have questions e-mail, or see Dr. G.
  • Answers to Exam IV and V from SP02 are now linked from the What's Important page.

  • Unfortunately I have bad news for anyone waiting for the video for the Help Session. I forgot to connect the audio cable to the camera, so the audio is trashed. I'm very sorry about this. I have linked the video, so you can see me solving the problem. It may be possible to get something out of just the video...and it may not. I'm really sorry. I will be around Sunday afternoon if you have questions.
  • New grades and new grade predictions are posted.

  • HELP session at 4:30 pm PS141 Saturday, May 3rd!

  • Check your personal page for the room you are schedule to take your final exam.

  • Two students have remarked to me that they noticed a change in the number of PLEs listed on their Personal Web page. Upon some investigation it appears that PLE2 has dissappeared from everyone's (who did PLE2) personal list of PLEs completed. I am trying to find out what happened. I do have a backup of PLE2 so everyone who did that PLE will receive credit. I just need to find out what is up.

  • I've added a PS16 to your grades. This PS score was determined by awarding 3 points to ICE #3, #4, #5 and #7. Points were awarded for attending class that day, and turning in the ICE. I've also reposted the grade predictions. If anything looks funky let me know.

  • Do you know your FINAL schedule?

  • Here is a Table of Standard Reduction Potentials that is in a form more use to the Problem set.

  • The overall course average is 66%. This is most excellent. The average I would like at the end of the semester is 65%. We're at 66% and we have not dropped any PSs or labs. So on the average everyone is doing great.

  • This semester I want to try using personal web pages. To take advantage of this new feature you will have to give me a Secret Identification number or name. Go to the SID#/Name link in the left frame and complete the information requested. After you have given me your SID information you will be able to access your own personal CHEM 1515 Web page through the Personal Page. The personal page will have information specifically associated with you: grades, PLE's, homework, exams, plus other way cool stuff. So get your SID set up now!
      • Since this is the FIRST time I have tried to use the Personal Web Page concept there are going to be problems. You must e-mail me, or contact me when you have problems so I can solve them quickly. Hang in there, it is going to be FUN! this semester.
  • Here are this semester's laboratory sections.

  • Check out the link to the web site for our textbook (BLB). The link is near the top of the left frame on our web site. Clicking on the link will take you to a page with an image of our textbook. Near the top of the page is a dropdown menu listing the Chapters in the text. Select a chapter and a page will be loaded for that chapter that contains links to resources. If you would like some practice problems try the Problem Soving Center. When the Problem Center page is load scroll down to the red button under flexible questions. Select the Homework link. This will generate a set of questions from the chapter. You will need a calculator.

  • Here is a very nice Periodic Table that contains lots of physical properties and chemical properties for the elements.
