  • A draft of the teaching assignments for the Spring semester has been distributed and I am currently assigned CHEM 1314. Dr Gearhart, who taught CHEM 1515 this Fall semester, is assigned CHEM 1515.
  • Once again THANK YOU for all your hard work this semester! Everyone have a happy, safe, relaxed Holiday. I look forward to seeing you next semester.

Final grades are now posted on SIS. I will have all your grades posted on your personal page today. Although final grades are submitted if you have ANY questions you are welcome to come by and see me. I am around this week and some of next week. I'll also be here next semester. You may drop by an pick up your exams or ask any questions.
  • The high score on Exam IV is a 97. Mehan Conlon had the high score. CONGRATULATION, Megan. Drop by my office for your certificate and swag!
  • New grades are posted. I am waiting for PS#14 scores from Dan Zang and PS#9 scores from Gary. The course percentage does not include any dropped labs or PSs. So the course percent after dropping labs and HW will be higher. Web Lab#1 is graded. For Sections 17, 18 and 20 the Web Lab#1 is listed. For Section #10 Web Lab #1 is LB1 grade. I've added the Survey PS as PS#15, if it is a '0' on PS#15 and you have completed the Web Survey contact Dr. G immediately.
  • IMPORTANT...one more Problem Set! (NOTE you do not have to do this PS if you do not want to!) If you do do this survey I will give you a 12 point PS (PS#15) so you can drop one more low PS score from this semester.

The CHEM 1314 Web Survey is ready. You must complete it by midnight, Sunday, December 14, 2003.

  • Exam V scores are now available. I have added PS14 for Section 10 and a lab exp in Section 15, otherwise no other changes. Danny H. is going to be giving me corrections for his students so hang loose for a day or so. I did not change the prediction page so you can check that based on your Exam V score. The high on Exam 5 was a 92 by Chase Whitfield. CONGRATULATIONS! Chase. Drop by, I have a certificate for you and swag!
  • Remember this week you MUST check-out of laboratory. FRIDAY, December 12, 2003 is the last possible day to check your equipment back to the department.

  • Check out the link to the web site for our textbook (BLB). The link is near the top of the left frame on our web site. Clicking on the link will take you to a page with an image of our textbook. Near the top of the page is a dropdown menu listing the Chapters in the text. Select a chapter and a page will be loaded for that chapter that contains links to resources. If you would like some practice problems try the Problem Solving Center. When the Problem Center page is loaded scroll down to the red button under flexible questions. Select the Homework link. This will generate a set of questions from the chapter. You will need a calculator.

  • Here is a very nice Periodic Table that contains lots of physical properties and chemical properties for the elements.
